Spruce Doubletop & Indian Rosewood
SoldContemporary Double-Top Concert Guitar
This contemporary concert classical guitar is built with Indian rosewood back and sides and a modern double-top soundboard. The top features a grooved spruce core with strategically placed balsa inlays, internally laminated with an ultra-thin Western red cedar skin.
This advanced construction significantly increases stiffness-to-weight efficiency, allowing the soundboard to respond with speed and sensitivity while maintaining structural stability. The result is a highly responsive instrument with immediate attack, wide dynamic range, and great projection.
While the guitar is notably loud and powerful, this double-top design has the advantage of preserving a traditional tonal character. The instrument retains the warmth, natural color, and musical complexity expected from a fine classical guitar.
The basses are deep and well defined, the midrange remains focused and transparent, and the trebles are clean, sustained, and even across the fingerboard. The guitar offers concert-level projection and easily fills a hall, while maintaining clarity and separation at distance.
As with all of my instruments, this guitar is entirely handcrafted in my workshop in Auvergne, France, with particular attention to top voicing, structural efficiency, and long-term reliability.
