Spruce & Madagascar Rosewood
SoldTraditional Concert Classical Guitar — French School
Built in the tradition of the French school of lutherie, this concert guitar brings together a select spruce soundboard and Madagascar rosewood back and sides, finished entirely by hand in French polish.
The French school of guitar making — as embodied by makers such as Robert Bouchet and Daniel Friederich — is characterised by light, refined construction, careful soundboard arching, and bracing geometry calibrated to promote clarity, transparency, and balance across all registers. This instrument follows those principles, drawing from both the acoustic and aesthetic tradition of that lineage.
The spruce soundboard is chosen for its stiffness, fine grain, and long-term resonance potential. Spruce delivers a defined, clear fundamental with controlled overtone content — precise in attack, well suited to articulation and ornamentation, and capable of gaining depth with time. It is a classical choice for players who value clarity and immediacy of response.
Madagascar rosewood back and sides contribute powerful projection with tonal complexity and beauty. Its strong grain structure and natural reflective properties support a well-defined bass, focused midrange, and singing, sustained trebles — qualities that carry cleanly across a concert hall.
Fitted with Alessi tuning machines for precise, stable tuning. The rosette is handmade in the workshop.
